Can She Be Called a Heroine in NOTA?

‘Pelli Choopulu’, ‘Arjun Reddy’, ‘Mahanati’ and ‘Geetha Govindam’, these movies have strong female protagonists alongside Vijay Deverakonda and they played an important role in the success of the movies. But, ‘NOTA’ has a different story to tell. There is Mehreen Pirzada who the makers introduced as the heroine of the movie.

Poor girl! Her character was not important or related to the main plot in any sense. To make it worse for her, unlike regular heroines who get a couple of songs to dance and romance with the hero or a bunch of scenes with the hero, Mehreen got nothing in ‘NOTA’. So, it’s surprising why the makers announced that she is the heroine when she wasn’t given even one memorable scene.

At the ‘NOTA’ public meet, Mehreen speech looked so confused and when asked what is ‘NOTA‘ for her, she cutely said, “I don’t know.” That says it all. The movie has opened to a mixed talk all over and it’s clear that Mehreen’s character was poorly written with no relation to the main plot of the movie, whatsoever.
