Mirai Cashing In On Stars Weakness

Teja Sajja’s Mirai trailer is out and it has been receiving unanimously positive responses, especially for the quality of the VFX. What makes this remarkable is that the quality visuals were delivered on a limited budget, something even big star films have struggled to convince audiences with.

This makes Mirai a crucial project. If a film like this made on a controlled budget yet offering strong VFX, succeeds, it proves an important point for the industry: should production houses continue pouring money into star heroes’ inflated paychecks, or should they channel those funds into content and quality production?

A success here would also set a path for tier-2 and mid-range heroes whose remunerations are far more flexible. With such talent, production houses can allocate more resources to enhancing technical quality, unlike the unreasonable demands of so-called tier-1 Telugu stars.

And also for Mirai which is releasing on September 12th without any holiday advantage or clash-driven hype, the film will have to deliver purely on the merit of its content. If it pulls off a commercial success, it will send a strong message to the industry about where production houses should be investing their money. In many ways, the success of Mirai will not only be crucial for Teja Sajja but also serve as an eye-opener for big producers and an inspiration for all other heroes starting Tier 2 layer.
