Multiplexes Loot: Telangana Chamber Does Damage Control

Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce immediately intervened to prevent the misuse of G.O. 120 brought in recently by the State Government. While the G.O. is to have flexible pricing, some Multiplexes enthusiastically went for the kill by opting for maximum prices.

The highest rate slab has been implemented for a small film like Arjuna Phalguna and all other running films. As a result, occupancy dropped drastically. The Chamber talked to the Multiplexes and ensured the prices are brought down from tomorrow.

“Producers, distributors, and Exhibitors should use this G.O. cleverly. We should not be greedy and move away from our audience. It happened due to the lack of knowledge. We will very soon talk to the Multiplexes where food and beverages are sold at exorbitant prices,” Sunil Narang, Telangana Chamber’s President said.

It’s good that the Chamber has intervened immediately without letting the wrong signals go to the audience. Meanwhile, Arjuna Phalguna has already suffered on its day one.
