Mr Majnu: Pleasant Beginning In 2019 For Thaman

The complete album of Akhil starrer Mr Majnu is out on the eve of Sankranthi festival. SS Thaman has provided music for the album which sees him join hands with Tholi Prema director Venky Atluri.

There are six songs in the album, and the instant feeling that one gets while listening to it is that of a calm and pleasantness. The sound is lush and vibrant with a trendy vibe all the way.

There are four songs in the fun space including the title track and two of them “Nenila” and “Koppamga Koppamga” are nice. The more situational and sombre numbers are also fine, but they are not songs that one would be expecting to be chartbusters even though “Naalo Neeku” stands out musically and lyrically.

The comparison with Tholi Prema will be inevitable, and that would make Mr Majnu come across as weak a little bit. However, in its own space, it is a mighty fine album, albeit somewhat situation.
