Nagababu Slams Sivaji, Anasuya Fires Back: “Vultures”

Actor Sivaji’s recent comments about how women and actresses should dress sparked a storm of conversations and strong backlash. Speaking at the pre-release event of Dhandoraa, Sivaji made remarks that many felt were disrespectful, judgmental, and crossed into moral policing. His words were widely slammed on social media, with women’s groups and celebrities calling them inappropriate and harmful.

Now Mega brother Nagababu reacted sharply to Sivaji’s statements. He made it clear that a woman’s clothing is her personal choice, and no one has the right to dictate it. He called moral policing unconstitutional and said such comments come from male ego and outdated thinking. Nagababu stressed that society should not support people who shame or abuse women in the name of culture. He also pointed out that crimes against women have nothing to do with clothing, but everything to do with the mindset of offenders. In a candid moment, he admitted that he once held similar views but changed over time, urging society to allow women to live freely and equally.

Actress and anchor Anasuya Bharadwaj strongly supported Nagababu, sharing his video and writing that he always stands by women. However, the debate soon turned ugly on social media. After Anasuya shared photos in a saree, some users mocked her and accused her of contradicting herself. When she later posted a swim shoot video, the trolling intensified, with people questioning her intentions, while others defended her right to choose how she presents herself.

In response to the growing negativity, Anasuya posted a strong message on Instagram. “I want to put this out clearly, once and for all. Some vultures, a few irresponsible media houses, and a few civic illiterates armed with smartphones and microphones have deliberately twisted my words and created manipulative narratives to suit their convenience. These narratives were designed to provoke, confuse, and mislead simple men and women alike.”
