Nandamuri Balakrishna Inducted into TDP’s Highest Decision-Making Body

Telugu Desam Party has rejigged the Party’s Politburo, its highest decision-making body. It has also constituted Party’s Central Committee. While fresh and young faces were given a chance in recently announced Parliamentary incharges, these new committees were more about experience and loyalty.

While Kinjarapu Atchennaidu was made the AP Party President, Hindupur Legislator Nandamuri Balakrishna made his entry into the Politburo for the first time. Previously, Nandamuri Harikrishna used to be in the Party’s Politburo. No member of the Nandamuri Family was inducted into the Politburo since his demise in 2018.

Balakrishna was re-elected as Hindupur MLA in the 2019 Elections. This is despite the high incumbency wave that swept the state in favor of the YSR Congress. Balakrishna is one of the only three MLA seats TDP managed to win in the Rayalaseema Region.

In fact, he is the only re-elected MLA of TDP to have bettered his majority when compared to the 2014 election. Even Chandrababu Naidu could not do that. This is the first time Nandamuri Balakrishna was appointed to any party post in Telugu Desam Party ever since he entered politics in 2014.
