Nani in Aaha Kalyanam –a mistake?

Actor Nani’s last release was more than a year ago and it was a failure commercially. His Paisa is struck in the cans and waiting to release from eternity. Even if it comes out chances of its success look bleak thanks to its long delay. What the actor needs at this point of time is a clean cut success and the actor has Aaha Kalayanam as his next release to achieve that.

Aaha Kalyanam is a Telugu and Tamil remake of Hindi film Band Baaja Baarat. It marks the debut of famous Hindi production house Yash Raj Films into South and a look at the trailer gives us a feel of the richness they bring in. but in the hindsight the chemistry between the lead pair looks completely dull with artificialness clearly visible. Also in Telugu a film has already been made on the same lines which mean the novelty factor too would be missing. Tamil version doesn’t seem to have this ‘missing of novelty’ problem so it might find favor their but that isn’t what the actor would be hoping with this film, would he?

So in the end with all those minuses and keeping in mind the heavy competition ahead, do you think Nani has made a mistake by accepting this remake and going ahead with it even after knowing that a film was made ripping off the original?
