Naveen Polishetty: Consistent, But Gaps Hard to Ignore?

Naveen Polishetty is gearing up for his next project after the success of Anaganaga Oka Raju. Known for backing content-driven entertainers, he is now set to collaborate with Mythri Movie Makers on a “crazy” new venture. Sources say the script is in its final stages, with an official announcement expected by the end of the year. This means the project might start shooting next year in 2027, and there is no clarity on the release date.

Naveen is taking his time again, staying true to his pattern. He is reportedly working with a new director once again, continuing his trend of backing fresh talent which also helps in keeping full creative control with himself. Mythri Movie Makers have reportedly given him full creative freedom, which indicates the confidence they have in his choices and his growing market pull.

Naveen is expected to receive a heavy remuneration along with a share in the profits.

But this also exposes the issue with Naveen Polishetty.

Naveen’s career has grown steadily, but slowly. He made a strong impact with Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya in 2019, followed by the blockbuster Jathi Ratnalu in 2021. He returned with Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty in 2023, and after another gap, Anaganaga Oka Raju in 2026. His next project might only be released in the latter half of 2027 or early 2028.

The consistency in quality is decent, but the gaps are hard to ignore.

Naveen has built goodwill with reliable, content-backed films, but his slow pace could start affecting his momentum. It is not like he is making a massive pan-India, huge-budget spectacle. He works largely in the mid-budget space, where quicker turnarounds are possible.

The expectation is simple. He can do more.

Many believe he could comfortably deliver at least two films a year if he speeds things up. Right now, the challenge is about balancing quality with consistency.

We have to see how his upcoming film with Mythri, which is going to start shooting next year, positions Naveen in the next phase of his career.
