Netflix India Ruining Another Blockbuster?

Any filmmaker wants to stream his film on a global OTT platform like Netflix because of its reach in foreign countries. There’s a chance that the international audience might catch the film, and it might earn appreciation from all over the world, as happened with RRR.

Now, Kannada’s biggest blockbuster, Kantara, is aiming to expand its reach globally with its release on Netflix. The makers of the film are trying to present it in the league of the most loved OTT releases like The Squid Game and Money Heist, which came from South Korea and Spain and went on to become global successes.

But the biggest mistake Netflix is making is that it will be streaming the film in English. Previously also, the streaming platform got a lot of flak from the audience for the weird and laughable dubbing of RRR in English.

People are now habituated to watching any film in its original language with English subtitles these days. The English dubbing of a raw and rustic film like Kantara will only ruin the experience of watching the film for the audience.
