The money was transferred by an agent who appeared to be acting on behalf of the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad. After partition, India, Pakistan and the heirs of Nizam were claiming the amount. The British High Court ruled out Pakistan option in this case and the money will be now have to be decided between India or the Nizam heirs.

The court even directed Pakistan to pay 1,50,000 pounds to India and Nizams as legal fees terming Pakistan’s behaviour all this years as “unreasonable”. Indian government and the heirs of Nizam were holding consultations to bring back the money.
