
“I worked for a salary-like remuneration for MCA (Middle-Class Abbayi) which happens to be the biggest hit in Nani’s career. I got very little remuneration for Vakeel Saab as well. I did not get any gift for any film,” the director revealed in an interview.
“I got a gap of seven years after my first film debacle, O My Friend. During that time, I approached every hero in the industry from star hero to young heroes. Everyone rejected me. Young heroes even refused to listen to my stories,” he added.
“I worked in story discussions of various projects and the money thus earned used to take care of my expenses. Some even did not give me credits even though I worked. One day, Sukumar said to be me – ‘If I were in your place, I would have committed suicide,” Sriram Venu said. Vakeel Saab ended up as a loss venture in the end. If not, Sriram Venu would have certainly got some gift at least now.
