Not a Rupee for Free 2BHK Flats & KG to PG!

Two of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti’s Prime Poll Promises did not even have a single rupee allocation in the budget tabled by Telangana government. The Free 2BHK Flats for the eligible poor and Free education from KG to PG did not have any allocations in the budget. The government did not even allocate money for these schemes in the last budget telling that they are yet to conduct studies on this scheme.

Both these schemes are extremely difficult to execute and will be a huge burden on the state exchequer. But Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wanted to present a surplus budget to support his claims that Telangana will be a rich state after the state bifurcation and so eliminated allocations to these schemes.

Finally Eetela Rajendra presented the budget with 531 Crore surplus. Telangana Assembly was adjourned till Friday so as to enable members to study the budget and understand it. We will have to see how government defend these Zero allocations in the next sitting on Friday.
