M9 News journalist Nishant sat down with OG director Sujeeth just hours after the film’s release. The director appeared tired but remained calm and composed despite the massive opening numbers.
Sujeeth shared memories of growing up watching cinema. Though a big fan of Pawan Kalyan, he never imagined directing him. He explained how he first approached Kalyan with a gangster script, how the remake idea surfaced, and how OG eventually came to life.
He spoke about making the most of Pawan Kalyan’s dates and how the actor’s dedication stretched the Mumbai schedule. Sujeeth also discussed using Ram Charan’s picture in one scene and why Akira’s cameo was not included.
Questions about OG 2 naturally came up. Could Akira appear, given it focuses on a young PK in Japan? Sujeeth also revealed whose idea Suhas’s cameo was, and whether he consulted Prabhas before weaving Saaho into OG.
He also went into detail about the now-famous police station scene, giving fans a closer look at his creative process.
