Only Prabhas, Nobody Else Can Carry the Weight

Director Nag Ashwin has taken a break after the blockbuster success of ‘Mahanati’ to actually learn the technique of writing a commercial entertainer. Finally, he came up with a commercial story that suits a magnanimous superstar like Prabhas.

According to Nag Ashwin, it’s not just the huge budget of the movie but also about the character. In his words, “Nobody else can carry the weight of the character other than Prabhas.” The pan-Indian superstar was pleasantly surprised as he didn’t expect a commercial story from the director after ‘Mahanati’.

Nag Ashwin is sure that nobody else would be suitable for the sci-fi entertainer that he wrote, a genre that isn’t anywhere similar to his two previous movies. It’s interesting that a filmmaker who made a film like ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ that speaks deep philosophy of our lives is going to handle a pan-Indian star.

Working with a director who has different sensibilities and trying to blend them into commercial space might be an interesting process to look out for. Nag Ashwin is anyway promising a complete mass entertainer. Let’s wait and see what he has got in store for Prabhas.
