Of course, there are a couple of big films lined up for the holiday season around Christmas, which will keep the folks upbeat as many are happy spending more on tickets and on munchies at the cinemas. One can expect could-be blockbuster films before the end of December:
Warner Bros Black Adam – Oct 21
Disney and Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Nov 11
Disney’s Strange World – Nov 23
Disney’s Avatar: The Way of Water – Dec 16.
Though there were a dozen films lined up for the last part of 2019, many were pushed back due to the pandemic. Now, the studios are considering re-releasing old hits to make people return to theatres. The library collection, as it is called, will include 1935’s The Mummy, 1943’s Phantom of the Opera, and some films to mark their anniversaries like the 40th anniversary of Poltergeist and the 60th anniversary of To Kill a Mockingbird.
The studio owners have also realized the need to ride on action flicks and have decided to diversify and release romantic and rom-com simultaneously to get different audiences to the theatres.
But the audiences have reasons to cheer as the first quarter of 2023 is filled with big releases and should be a good start to the year.
