Our Film heroes helped him to dodge conviction!

Can you imagine someone who was accused of stalking could dodge conviction because of Bollywood films. One Sandesh Baliga went to Australia to study accounting three years ago. He repeatedly sent messages and called two women though his advances hadn’t been positively vibrated from the opposite side. Hence a case was filed against him for stalking.

When his case came up for hearing, his lawyer Greg Barns argued that it is quite common for Indian men to target Indian women until they reciprocate in his favour. Given to his cultural background, the lawyer came up with the point that Bollywood films have heroes who pursue women until they concede to a relationship.

Surprisingly, even the Judge was convinced with the argument and also taking into account his good conduct, adjourned the complaint on him. The judge felt tat his cultural background is responsible for his behaviour and Sandesh meant no real harm to the women he texted and called repeatedly. Sandesh was also regretful for his behaviour which was influenced by alcohol. Thus our Bollywood heroes saved him from conviction.
