Pawan’s director out of Sabbatical with a bang

One film that has been a game changer for powerstar Pawan Kalyan was ‘Kushi’ directed by SJ Surya in 2001. But in 2010 the same director gave a box-office dud ‘Puli’ for Pawan Kalyan putting at stake his own and Pawan Kalyan’s image. This director also turned actor for the Tamil version of Mahesh Babu’s ‘Naani’ directed by SJ Surya and acted in a few of his directorial ventures.

After the debacle of Pawan’s ‘Puli’, SJ Surya has been on undeclared Sabbatical and working on a movie titled ‘Isai’. This movie repeatedly got postponed since many years and finally his long worked on movie ‘Isai’ hit theatres on Friday and received positive reviews. SJ Surya was back with a bang receiving accolades of praises for his performance, direction, script and music as well.

It is learnt that the director-actor spent the last few years learning music for six hours a day for the movie. It was rumoured to be the story depicting professional rivalry and competition between Isaignaani Ilayaraja and star composer AR Rehman. ‘Isai’ has the theme of rivalry between acclaimed music composer (Sathya Raj) and SJ Surya. Anyway, SJ Surya is on top of the world for the success of ‘Isai’.
