Peddi is now just four days away from its paid premieres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with U.S. premieres also scheduled around the same time. Ticket prices have been finalized, with paid premiere tickets priced at ₹600.
The bigger question now is whether Peddi has enough buzz to fill theaters and generate the kind of star-hero euphoria expected on opening day.
The real picture, especially in the Telugu states, will emerge only when premiere bookings open. Until then, it is difficult to accurately gauge audience excitement.
However, when it comes to North America, the signs are less encouraging. Despite bookings opening well in advance, pre-sales have so far reached only around $500K, which is relatively low for a major star-driven film like Peddi.
Interestingly, the Peddi team has spent most of its promotional energy on the pan-India market.
Over the past few weeks, they have organized events in cities like Bhopal and Bengaluru, focusing heavily on audiences outside the Telugu states. Considerable money and resources have gone into these campaigns.
In contrast, Telugu promotions have been relatively limited. At this point, only a Telugu pre-release event remains before the film hits theaters. The strategy clearly indicates a stronger focus on non-Telugu markets rather than aggressively targeting the core Telugu audience.
With just days left for release and U.S. premiere sales yet to show decent momentum, all eyes are now on June 3. Whether the buzz picks up dramatically in the final stretch or remains muted is the biggest question surrounding the film.
For now, Peddi remains something of a puzzle.
