Ram Charan’s Peddi first two songs created strong buzz among audiences. Chikiri Chikiri turned into a pan-India chartbuster with massive reach, while Rairaira Ray managed a decent response. However, after the trailer received mixed reactions, fans pinned bigger hopes on the film’s special song to bring back stronger momentum and excitement.
The latest track from Peddi, which was first launched at the Bhopal event and later released online directly, has now become a major talking point.
The song starts with Ram Charan and Shruti Haasan before Janhvi Kapoor joins midway, adding another visual layer to the number. While the combination gives the song a fresh setup, reactions online suggest the track has not met expectations.
The song marks Ram Charan and Shruti Haasan sharing screen space again after Yevadu. Reports suggest several names were considered, like Mrunal Thakur and Manasa Varanasi, before Shruti was finalized, particularly during a late production stage when the team was under considerable pressure.
Jani Master handled choreography, while Anantha Sriram penned the lyrics.
However, social media reactions have brought trolling, bashing, and backlash. Many viewers feel Jani Master’s choreography has become repetitive, pointing out similarities to movements seen in Ram Charan songs for more than a decade.
Some viewers also feel Shruti Haasan lacks freshness and she does not deliver the oomph or energy expected from such a big massy item song. Her casting itself brought the hype down, with some feeling a younger and more contemporary actress could have elevated the song better.
Janhvi Kapoor has also faced trolling, with viewers saying her appearance feels forced and adds little beyond visual presence.
The “Hellallallo” hook portion has managed to click with listeners to an extent, but the rest of the song does not live up to the massive buildup. AR Rahman’s composition has faced backlash from some listeners, especially after reports recently claimed the makers spent nearly 50 days perfecting this single track.
Still, fans are defending the song as they believe mass songs often work differently on the big screen. Rangasthalam’s Jigelu Rani initially received divided reactions too, but audience perception changed significantly after experiencing it inside theatres.
Now the big question remains whether Hellallallo follows a similar path and transforms into a crowd favorite once Peddi arrives in cinemas on June 4.
