Telangana’s Ticket Hike Rejection is a Bitter Pill for Peddi!

Just a day after celebrating massive ticket hikes and special 8 PM premiere permissions from the Andhra Pradesh government, the makers of Ram Charan’s Peddi have hit a major roadblock in Telangana.

The production unit’s high-stakes legal battle for enhanced ticket pricing in the Nizam region ended abruptly.

The Telangana High Court refused to grant immediate interim relief.

Facing unfavorable outcomes based on past judgments, the team ultimately chose to withdraw their petition entirely.

The production house had repeatedly knocked on the doors of the Home Secretary.

They submitted multiple representation letters to secure a pricing boost for the film’s crucial first week.

When the government response remained cold, they moved a lunch-motion petition in the High Court as a desperate last resort.

However, the court cited existing legal guidelines and ongoing ticket pricing disputes.

They stated that issuing sudden, emergency orders right before the June 4 release would only create mass confusion.

This creates a fascinating, highly polarized box office scenario for the sports drama.

While single-screen tickets in AP are enjoying a solid ₹100 hike and multiplexes a ₹125 bump, Telangana audiences will get to watch the mega-spectacle at standard, government-mandated rates.

For a high-budget film looking to maximize its recovery within the opening weekend, losing out on premium pricing in a major territory like Hyderabad is undoubtedly a heavy commercial sting.

Yet, from an audience perspective, this “blow” might secretly turn into a major blessing in disguise.

In an era where family audiences are actively complaining about being priced out of multiplexes, a massive star-driven commercial entertainer available at standard rates is incredibly rare.

While the producers might miss out on inflated day-one statistics, the lower barrier to entry could trigger a massive wave of organic footfalls across Telangana.

If the talk from the AP premieres is positive, the standard ticket rates might just help Peddi achieve a longer, much healthier theatrical run in Nizam.
