“Please Call Me Chiyaan”

Chiyaan is the name of the lead role of actor Vikram in ‘Sethu’ which was remade in Telugu as ‘Seshu’ starring Rajasekhar and in Hindi as ‘Tere Naam’ starring Salman Khan. But the appreciation Vikram got for this movie had been unique and he even won National and State awards for his performances.

After 17 years, Vikram finds out that ‘Sethu’ and the character of ‘Chiyaan’ he played in the film is very close to his heart. It is with this character he rose to stardom. back then, fans used to call him by his screen name. Even today, we find many addressing him as ‘Chiyaan Vikram’.

But Vikram wants his fans to call him ‘Chiyaan’ instead of Vikram. He even wants the filmmakers to use ‘Chiyaan’ in the title credits of his upcoming movies. This shows Vikram’s love for the character which changed the path of his career.
