Can Two Negatives Turn into Pooja’s Comeback?

Pooja Hegde had a strong run in Telugu cinema for several years, though her early films did not perform as expected at the box office. Her glamorous role in Duvvada Jagannadham resonated with the youth and opened doors to major projects with stars like Mahesh Babu, NTR, Ram Charan, and Prabhas. However, consecutive flops gradually slowed her momentum in the industry.

In recent years, she stepped away from Telugu projects to work in Hindi and Tamil films. Unfortunately, even there, releases like Retro and Devaa failed to impress, making it seem as though her career was nearing a low point.

Though rumours of her Telugu comeback surfaced multiple times, nothing materialised. Recently, while promoting Retro in Hyderabad, she shared that her return to Telugu films was almost confirmed. The news instantly excited her fan base.

Reports now suggest she will star alongside Nithiin in his next film. Nithiin, who has also been facing a series of flops, is teaming up once again with director Vikram Kumar after their hit Ishq. This time, they are reportedly working on a sports drama in which Nithiin plays a horse rider.

Sources say Pooja has been finalised as the female lead, with the film being produced under Nithiin’s home banner, Sreshth Movies. While working with Nithiin may appear to be a smaller step compared to her earlier collaborations with bigger names, the project could still prove to be a significant turning point in her Telugu career.

For now, all attention is on her Coolie special song Monica, which has generated a strong buzz on social media. Fans are waiting to see if it can create the same impact when it hits the big screen.
