Potential threat to Karthikeya from releasing?

Karthikeya is a thriller starring Swamy Ra Ra fame Nikhil in the lead. The film has been generating enough curiosity among the audience with the release of each new promo but now with the never ending postponements the audience seems to be losing interest on it. So what exactly is the reason for the long postponement?

Earlier it was being said that the makers were planning for a simultaneous release in Telugu and Tamil and hence the film was delayed to get the proper window. But now we hear that the film may be plagued with another problem that is so often the case with Telugu films these days. The film according to sources has gone over budget and the makers are apparently finding it hard to sell the film at the prices that would be favorable to them. The makers are still waiting for the film to be sold, as they have some finances to be cleared.

For now they have declared August 1 as release date but don’t be surprised if there is any last minute delay. It’s a vicious circle that has caused the delays of many films in the past and the worse thing is nothing concretely is known till the last minute. Karthikeya is produced by Venkat Srinivas and is made by newcomer Chandoo Mondeti.
