In the past Pawan Kalyan had flops and disasters like Johnny, Gudumba Shankar, Balu, Bangaram and Puli in Overseas market. However despite those massive failures, his market didn’t get affected, in fact every subsequent movie was bought for higher prices right till the latest Sardaar Gabbar Singh. More often than not, the business was closed just based on Pawan Kalyan’s name, hence the ‘Power’ in Powerstar.
But if we look closely, it was a smaller market a decade back and today Overseas market is getting expanded phenomenally. What this means is loses too get maximized exponentially. While Johnny was a one crore loss back in the day, today SGS is a 8+ Cr loss venture. A new ignorant distributor could be easily lured to get rights at 1 Cr price but when we talk about 8 Cr and beyond, the options get reduced drastically.
To get such high prices from distributors in future Pawan Kalyan has to work with considerably well known or big directors. Which means it is practically end of his pull as a solo star as Powerstar. Basically he would be like any other star sans his Power.
