Prabhas' Fauzi Glimpse Faces Social Media Trolling
Prabhas’ birthday glimpse of Fauzi has triggered heavy trolling on social media. Instead of creating the expected excitement, the video has sparked complaints over the actor’s look, loud elevations, and the way historical characters are presented.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi of Sita Ramam fame, Fauzi is a period action drama featuring Prabhas. Several viewers feel the director has gone overboard with mass elevations. One user argued that giving a fictional character played by Prabhas a typical KGF-style elevation through Subhas Chandra Bose is an insult to the Indian freedom fighter.
The biggest complaint is that Hanu appears to have moved away from the subtle storytelling associated with Sita Ramam. Some viewers have compared the loud presentation to Boyapati Sreenu’s style, arguing that the hero elevations feel forced rather than natural. Scenes involving Adolf Hitler and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose have also drawn backlash, with some questioning whether historical figures are being used mainly to build up the hero.
Netaji’s appearance has become another talking point. Some social media users have compared his look to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, while others have questioned the makeup, casting, and use of AI. A few viewers have also alleged that the film borrows elements from Kalyan Ram’s Devil. Many felt the conversation between Bose and Hitler looked more like a spoof than a serious scene.
Prabhas’ appearance has faced the most brutal trolling. Some users have questioned the mismatch between his face and neck, while others claim his wig is too obvious. The scene in which he rapidly spins a gun has become meme material, with users comparing the movement to operating a sugarcane juice machine or driving an auto.
These complaints have once again raised questions about why filmmakers struggle to present Prabhas well despite huge budgets, unlimited resources, and access to top technicians. Is it so difficult to get his look right? Even Rajinikanth, in his 70s, gets a better look in films like Jailer 2. So why not Prabhas? From Saaho to The Raja Saab, fans have repeatedly questioned his looks. Now, Fauzi seems to have joined that list.
However, it is too early to pass a verdict based on a short glimpse. The bigger question is whether the full film can address these concerns and deliver the experience fans expect from Prabhas.
