Prabhas in Sita Ramam: Masterstroke or Blunder?

Pan-India star Prabhas delivered a dud called Radhe Shyam this year which disappointed not only his fans but the core Telugu audience. The film went wrong in almost every way. It was intended to be a classic love story but turned out to be an unintentionally funny cringe-fest.

Recently Sita Ramam showed how a classic love story needs to be made. People on social media are saying that Prabhas should have done Sita Ramam instead of Radhe Shyam. Fans are saying Prabhas would have nailed the role of Ram in this period romantic film.

But the fans should realize that Sita Ramam worked because Dulquer Salmaan suited the role of Ram to the T. He didn’t carry the baggage of a star action hero, and that is the reason audience accepted him in that role.

Prabhas, on the other hand, would have been miscast. Prabhas is in his 40s and doesn’t have the looks of a romantic hero right now, which he had during Darling or Mr. Perfect days. He has become this huge mass hero after Baahubali, and the audience will not accept him as a lover boy anymore.
