Prabhas appears to have another ambitious project in the pipeline, but the latest buzz has raised fresh questions about Salaar 2. Reports suggest that Mirai director Karthik Gattamneni is preparing a thriller script for Prabhas, with People Media Factory expected to back the project.
The film is reportedly being planned for launch in 2027, with discussions suggesting that production could progress alongside Kalki 2898 AD Part 2. However, the project has not been officially confirmed.
If the reports turn out to be true, Prabhas will have another major film added to his already packed lineup. Fauzi and Spirit are expected to be his BIG releases in 2027, while Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 and the proposed Karthik Ghattamaneni project could arrive in 2029.
This raises a major concern for fans waiting for Salaar 2. The sequel is among Prabhas’ most anticipated projects, but there is still no clear timeline for its progress. Despite the average box office result of the first part, the sequel is hugely awaited by a section of fans. They want to see the full version of the dinosaur that Prashanth Neel had promised. If newer projects move ahead first, Salaar 2 could face another lengthy delay or be shelved altogether.
Fans are also worried that Prabhas is giving chances to directors who may not have the experience to pull off a big film with a pan-India star. Will Karthik be able to handle Prabhas, or will he fumble like Radhakrishna Kumar, Om Raut, Sujeeth, and Maruthi?
Prabhas’ schedule is already crowded with big-budget films that require extensive production and post-production work. Even when multiple projects are planned simultaneously, their release dates depend on how quickly the teams complete filming and visual effects.
If Fauzi and Spirit arrive in 2027, while the Karthik Gattamneni film and Kalki sequel take longer to complete, 2028 could turn out to be a year without a Prabhas release.
For now, these timelines remain speculative. But with yet another project being linked to Prabhas, fans want clarity on one crucial question: will Salaar 2 finally go on floors ever?
