Prabhas Faces Double Setback: Will Vanga Take Advantage?

Prabhas is currently juggling multiple pan-India projects, but two of his biggest films have hit unexpected setbacks.

Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, directed by Nag Ashwin, had recently resumed shooting after a long gap. The schedule included actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, with reports that Sai Pallavi and Prabhas had joined the shoot. However, filming has now been paused due to Sai Pallavi reportedly facing health issues. The team is expected to resume around mid-May, though there is no official confirmation.

Sai Pallavi replaced Deepika Padukone, who exited the project earlier due to creative and logistical differences.

In a more serious development, Prabhas’ film Fauzi has been affected by a tragic accident. Near Ramoji Film City in Abdullapurmet, a production vehicle lost control and crashed into a divider. A crew member, Ramaraju, died, while five others were seriously injured.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, and police have registered a case. While initial reports point to loss of control, authorities are also checking whether safety protocols were followed.

Following the incident, the Fauzi shoot has been halted as a mark of respect and for investigation. The team is cooperating with officials.

These back-to-back setbacks have disrupted both projects and created uncertainty around schedules. Attention is now on when shoots will resume. It also remains to be seen whether Prabhas will allocate some of these disrupted dates to Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is waiting for him to begin shooting Spirit.
