Prabhas is one of the biggest superstars in Indian cinema when it comes to attracting audiences to theatres in large numbers. However, his selection of directors has often been a weak point as he sometimes chooses to work with questionable filmmakers.
The latest discussion revolves around the choices that Prabhas should ideally be making at this stage of his career. With the kind of stardom he enjoys, he needs to collaborate with a talented young filmmaker like Lokesh Kanagaraj sooner rather than later.
It is true that Lokesh delivered a below-par film like Coolie, but one average film should not define his career. His filmmaking talent remains unquestionable considering the strong filmography he has built in the recent past with several successful projects.
Lokesh Kanagaraj is among the few directors in South Indian cinema who can draw audiences to theatres purely with their name. This shows the trust he has built over the years, making him the right kind of director for a star like Prabhas.
A collaboration between Prabhas and Lokesh Kanagaraj would surely bring massive crowds to theatres. Instead of carrying all the burden himself, Prabhas should work with directors who can add significant value to the project and strengthen the final output.
Such a film would also open the Tamil market for Prabhas, considering Lokesh Kanagaraj’s popularity there. This means it would be a win-win situation for both, with Prabhas expanding his reach and Lokesh getting to work with a pan-India star.
Instead of random filmmaking choices, Prabhas is better off joining hands with an energetic and proven young director like Lokesh. Their collaboration would be faster to execute, match Prabhas’s preference for quick projects, and still guarantee strong theatrical results.
