Spirit Poster Draws Fresh Criticism
Sandeep Reddy Vanga has postponed Prabhas’ Spirit once again, with the film now scheduled to release on October 29, 2027, as a Diwali treat. The director announced the new release date on Sunday by sharing a fresh poster on social media. However, the poster has triggered disappointment among Prabhas fans and fresh trolling from Deepika Padukone’s supporters.
The poster features Prabhas dressed in black, wearing a cap and glasses, with a serious expression. But the biggest complaint is that his face is barely visible. The makers have opted for a side-profile shot, with the cap and shadows hiding most of his features.
For a film directed by Vanga and starring a pan-India superstar like Prabhas, fans expected a striking new look that would immediately grab attention. Instead, many have found the reveal underwhelming, with some even comparing Prabhas’ appearance to Bollywood music director Himesh Reshammiya.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone’s fans are using the past controversy to take fresh digs at Vanga and the Spirit team. Deepika’s exit from the project had become a huge talking point after reports claimed that she wanted to limit her working hours to six to eight hours a day, a condition Sandeep Vanga did not accept.
Deepika Padukone’s fans argue that Vanga has no problem with Prabhas barely showing his face in a poster announcing the film’s new release date but was unwilling to accommodate Deepika’s demands regarding her working hours.
Their argument is simple: if Prabhas could not even make time for a proper photoshoot for such an important announcement, why was Deepika criticized for setting conditions on her working schedule?
Deepika’s supporters accuse Vanga of applying different standards to the two stars.
