A small-budget Kannada film is making headlines with claims that it has overtaken Yash’s KGF: Chapter 1 at the Karnataka box office. Premada Oorali, reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 3 crore, is said to have achieved this milestone through a strong theatrical run.
As per some trade websites, Premada Oorali has crossed Rs 135 crore in Karnataka, moving past the estimated Rs 134 crore Karnataka gross of KGF: Chapter 1. However, box-office figures vary across tracking platforms, and the record has not been independently confirmed.
Directed by Manoj Kumar, the rural family drama stars Shree Raam, Rangayana Raghu, Tapaswini Poonacha and Ramika Shivu. Released on September 25, the film reportedly gained momentum through word of mouth, turning into a major surprise success despite its modest budget.
The film was also released in Telugu as Premane Oorilo on October 2, though its response in the Telugu market was relatively limited compared with Karnataka.
If the reported Karnataka figures hold up, Premada Oorali would rank among the state’s biggest box-office performers, ahead of the first KGF film. For now, the reported collections should be treated as trade estimates rather than confirmed figures.
