Insecurity Alert: Pseudo Intellectual Director Comments On SSR

Alphonse Puthren’s claim to fame is the highly acclaimed Premam. But he has more or less remained a one-film wonder and barely had a hit later. His last film with Prithviraj and Nayanatara titled Gold was a washout. But now he is being heavily trolled by Telugu film-goers for making a rather direct sarcastic comment on none other than SS Rajamouli.

Well, Alphonse invited the fury of Telugu Twitters by listing out his top 10 New Year wishes. Without sticking to his personal agenda, he wrote one wish involving SS Rajamouli. He says, “Want to see SS Rajamouli remake Vikramarkudu in English with College Papala bus song in today’s style with actors like Jackie Chan or Will Smith or Ryan Gosling with Scarlett Johanson or any actress suitable for it.”

Naturally, the Telugu audiences and lovers of Rajamouli are pretty pissed off with the Malayalee director who seems to see Rajamouli’s penetration into the Malayalam market. It is known that following Rajamouli’s success abroad, many directors across India are feeling rather insecure and Alphonse Puthren seems to be one of them.

He is that pseudo-intellectual trying to show off his superiority complex. It can be noted that even today many Malayalam films will find it tough to cross Rajamouli’s Vikramarkudu’s 2006 and still they have the gall to make fun of Rajamouli.
