Pushpa 2 Effect: South OTT Fans Warn Fahadh Faasil

Fahadh Faasil earned a lot of fan following during the COVID period due to the OTT boom. People became his ardent fans after seeing his work in films like Bangalore Days, Athiran, Kumbalangi Nights, Trance, and many others.

He kind of developed a cult following among the OTT audience.
So, when it was announced that Fahadh had been signed to play the villain’s role in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, there was huge excitement among fans. They expected fireworks between Allu Arjun and Fahadh’s faceoff scenes. But nothing of that sort happened.

In Pushpa 1, Fahadh’s role was more of a cameo. In Pushpa 2, he got a lengthy role, but it wasn’t what was expected.

Fahadh Faasil’s portrayal of the antagonist, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, in Pushpa 2 has sparked extremely mixed reactions. Many viewers expressed disappointment with how his character was handled in the film.

Despite being an incredibly talented actor, Fahadh’s role felt underwhelming. He has excelled in negative roles before, delivering memorable performances in films like 22 Female Kottayam and Kumbalangi Nights, where he played complex and intense villains. Seeing him underutilized in Pushpa 2 left fans and critics frustrated.

The film makes a mockery of his character, reducing Bhanwar Singh to a mere pawn. While hero worship is common in Indian cinema, it felt almost criminal to see an actor of Fahadh’s caliber sidelined and turned into a joker.

The rivalry between Pushpa and Shekhawat could have been the highlight of the sequel, but the film wasted the opportunity by not allowing Fahadh to showcase his talent.

Fans had hoped for a more substantial and impactful role for the actor, but the final result fell way short of expectations.

So now, South fans have warned Fahadh Faasil to stay away from big-budget commercial movies. They want him to stick to content-based movies where he can showcase his extraordinary skills as an actor and not make a fool out of himself like in Pushpa 2.
