Allu Arjun Did It For Amazon, Not Netflix

Earlier, Allu Arjun delivered hallmark blockbuster for Amazon prime video in the form of the first part of Pushpa. This film was a raging sensation or OTT back when it released in 2021.

Amazon gained a lot of view during the Covid lockdown period, thanks to Pushpa 1 and Allu Arjun brilliantly worked the trick for them.

Cut to now, the second part of Pushpa is now streaming on Netflix, but it needs to be said that the early reception is not quite as abrasive as the first part for Amazon prime.

The first part was an immediate sensation on Prime Video and it could pull all sections of the audience across the country. It can very well be categorised as a marquee film for Amazon and it stayed that way for a year or two which is a mighty deal.

But in the case of the sequel, which is now streaming on Netflix, the viewership might not be quite as good. It can be noted that the film got off to just a decent start and it slowed down after the OTT debut weekend.

Now, there aren’t many discussion about the film on social media either, of course barring the occasional fan war or two about the Rappa Rappa fight sequence and Kateramma fight sequence(Salaar).

Outside this zone, the OTT reach of Pushpa 2 has been rather stagnated and saturated.

One crucial difference here is that the first part had the lockdown advantage, where people had work from home and had time to burn. Adding to that, the songs and mannerism were strikingly good.

Coming to the second part, the people got accustomed to what is on offer and adding to that the vast majority watch the film in theatres itself, so there wasn’t this mad rush for OTT.
