Raashii Khanna actively participated in the promotions of Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh before its release. She attended interviews, press meets, created promotional reels, and spoke highly about the film at the pre-release event. Even though Sreeleela was promoted as the main heroine from the beginning, many expected Raashii Khanna to have a substantial role after her sudden inclusion in the project.
However, after the film’s release, fans expressed disappointment over her limited presence. Her character appears only in the first half, and that too in a half-baked role, which failed to connect with audiences. Viewers also felt that she looked old and unattractive, making no impact whatsoever.
Raashii Khanna did feature in the song “Collar Ey Ethara” alongside Pawan Kalyan, but the song failed to even barely register in the minds of the audience.
The film did not provide her with a second-half re-entry or a stronger closure, even though there was scope to extend her character. Director Harish Shankar chose not to expand her role further, which many believe reduced her overall impact in the screenplay.
Raashii Khanna had earlier mentioned that she accepted the project without fully hearing the script. While that decision brought her into a high-profile film, it failed to give any boost to her career. Her previous film Telusu Kada with Siddhu Jonnalagadda also did not significantly benefit her in any way.
Raashii Khanna currently has multiple projects lined up in Bollywood and Tamil cinema. After several years, she is now regaining momentum in the Hindi industry. But in Telugu, we have to see if she is offered any big film after the Ustaad Bhagat Singh debacle.
