Rajinikanth Fighting Against Paying for Vacant Hall

Despite sending a notice to the Chennai City Municipal Corporation reminding Section 105 that provides remission of the property tax that was levied on his Raghavendra Marriage Hall, there was no answer from the Corporation.

So, the superstar filed a writ petition demanding the remission of the tax levied on his marriage hall in Chennai. After the pandemic broke out, they have called all the booking of the marriage hall and it has been vacant since then.

But, the Corporation sent a notice to pay the property tax on the above-mentioned property. The actor claimed through his counsel Vijayan that they have been paying the property tax regularly till February this year and later, it was left vacant returning even the advances paid.

The corporation levied a tax of Rs. 6.50 lakhs for the Marriage Hall in Kodambakkam but according to Section 105, when a house remains vacant for a period of 30 days, there is a remission of tax.
