Rajinikanth versus Shankar in summer 2014

Superstar Rajinikanth whose last two films were helmed by director Shankar this time is going to clash with his hero at the box office, according to the latest news doing the rounds in the Kollywood film circles. Rajinikanth’s long delayed Kochadaiyaan and Shankar’s long in the making I (Manoharudu in Telugu) starring Vikram are reportedly pegged to release on the Tamil New Year day, April 14.

Kochadaiyaan has been in news from time to time about its release date starting from Diwali last year but so far the makers haven’t released it. All the time some technical issues are being cited for the last minute delay. On the other hand Manoharudu is almost in the last stages of shooting and later it would have an extensive post production to get all the special effects and VFX right. Vikram who is known for his chameleon like transformations will be seen in various get ups in the film. Looking at the numerous delays Rajini’s film has gone through, a clash still can be ruled out but the reality would be known only when near the said release date, for now we can only ask, what if the clash happens?
