Ravindranath, Kannada film director of Award winning movie Veerappan (1991), died of heart attack in Hyderabad railway station. The veteran director was in Hyderabad as an adviser for a film directed by Anoop Bhandari and while the director was getting on board to the train, he collapsed. Later he was declared dead and kept in a police in Hyderabad as he wasn’t married and his brothers weren’t at immediate availability.
When word spread about his death, Rajinikanth intervened and made sure that the dead body of the director reached Bangalore city. Rajinikanth and Ravindranath were class mates at the Madras film Institute in the 70’s and he had very fond memories of him. Keeping this friendship in mind and finding about the plight of the body of the deceased friend, he intervened. This joins the long list of such heart touching acts that has made the Superstar an unflinching star in the eyes of friends, fans and common man.
