Ramayana Eyes Global Glory, But Just 1,000 US Locations?

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is only a few weeks away from release. While the promotional strategy being followed by the producers has received a lot of criticism, all eyes are on whether the content will leave a positive impression, as expected.

The latest updates have revealed that the makers are aiming to release the film in 1,000 locations in North America. Although the producers have not confirmed anything, trade experts believe that this aims to bring the film to global audiences, considering the scale of the project.

Apart from this, another update has revealed that the movie will get separate releases in Hindi and English in the US. The biggest difference here is going to be the runtime.

A social media report has stated that the Hindi version’s runtime has been revealed as 3 hours 15 minutes in the AMC listings. However, the English version will be shorter, at 2 hours 45 minutes, and the title is going to be Ramayana: Rise of a Legend.

While everything is yet to be made official, the difference in the runtime is a result of certain things that are omitted in the English version. This includes the songs and the interval.

Social media users reacted by saying that it is a good thing that the makers are trying to bring a story of India to global audiences. However, they expressed their frustration, asking why the makers are not making similar efforts to attract Indian audiences.

A particular section also wrote on social media that it is useless to request the makers anymore to focus on promotions in India since they have hardly paid attention to the same since the beginning. On the other hand, trade experts said that the ongoing negative response might impact the box office numbers, and the producers should now do something to rectify the mistake.

Ranbir Kapoor’s fans still supported the move. They said that the movie is made on a big budget and global recognition can only help it to score big at the box office. The same people stated that the movie does not need heavy promotion in India since the title itself is sufficient to pull audiences.

Advance booking for Ramayana has not started yet, and only this will give a hint about the film’s fate at the box office. Let’s wait and see if people’s frustration about certain things will bring any changes to the collections.
