Trailer Talk: Just Enough To Hook And Pull

The trailer of Sharwanand’s new film Ranarangam is out. We already know the theme of the movie and the teaser made it clear what is in store. The purpose of the trailer seems is to be to let know the basic premise of the film besides the ‘gangster’ angle.

Director Sudheer Varma is known for exciting premises and a dull narrative with few highlight moments. The theatrical trailer of Ranarangam follows the same pattern. The basic ‘Gangster’ genre clichés can be seen within the trailer itself.

It is now all up to the cast and the direction to make the clichés look fresh on-screen. A lot will depend on the writing and acting. Sharwanand is doing his best without any doubt. The rest of the characters is a wait and watch kind of scenario.

Still, all said and done, the trailer has just enough to get the audience on board for the openings. Ranarangam releases on Independence Day and has a small movie as its competition. Its genre is enough to make it the first choice. We have to see if there is enough bite in the narrative or not.
