Music Review: Authentic Folk Treat From DSP

The entire audio of Mega Powerstar Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam is out. It just means the remaining two songs are out which were previously not released. Do these two songs change the impression about the whole album or they show it in a new light? Well, we think it’s a mix of the two.

When we listen to the entire album in totality, it is clear what the cue regarding the movie is? The idea is to serve a multitude of Andhra folk tunes to the listeners transporting us back to those times. All the three songs released so far were different styled rural mass folk numbers. The remaining two take them further.

The item number, for example, is a typical authentic rural mass number that has become a stereotype over the years due to countless repetitions. Here it is kept as accurate to original flavor as possible. The same can be said about the last number as well which is again a folk number from the word go but having a Telangana touch.

Overall, the final two songs don’t add much to the “blockbuster” appeal, but it definitely showcases the maker’s intention to stick to the rustic theme and cover the various folk songs styles, and they do an excellent job of it.
