An old interview clip involving Suman Mandanna has recently gone viral on social media, bringing fresh attention to the past engagement between Rashmika Mandanna and Rakshit Shetty. The clip comes from an interview given to a Kannada news channel several years ago. However, it resurfaced on social media shortly after Rashmika’s marriage to Vijay Deverakonda, which is why it quickly attracted widespread attention and debate.
In the interview, Suman Mandanna spoke about the tensions that allegedly occurred between the two families when Rashmika and Rakshit called off their engagement in 2018. One of the major issues she mentioned was that Rakshit’s family allegedly wanted Rashmika to stop acting after marriage and expected her to publicly announce that on social media.
Suman also claimed that Rakshit did not support Rashmika and instead argued with her. Another allegation she mentioned was that Rakshit’s mother demanded that Rashmika’s mother apologize to their family. These statements lead to fresh discussions and backlash on social media.
Reacting strongly to the viral clip, Rashmika posted a long message on her social media account warning that she will take legal action against people who continue to spread the video and related claims. She said that for the past eight years she has been facing misinformation, harassment, and targeted attacks online. According to her, many statements attributed to her were either taken out of context or completely fabricated.
Rashmika also said that the latest controversy crossed a line because an old private conversation from nearly eight years ago was allegedly recorded and circulated without the knowledge or consent of those involved. She claimed that only a small portion of the conversation was taken and shared widely to create controversy. She feels it’s a conspiracy against her to spoil her new marriage life.
She also said that at certain moments some people try to interfere in her life and spread negativity, but ultimately her life decisions are hers to make. She emphasized that no one else should decide how she lives her life or what choices she makes, and that she will make her own decisions moving forward.
In her statement, she asked media platforms, influencers, and individuals to remove the video and related content within 24 hours. She warned that if the material continues to circulate, she will proceed with legal action, including issuing notices to individuals, influencers, digital platforms, and media organizations for spreading defamatory content and violating privacy.
