RC17 Music Buzz: Anirudh Replacing DSP?!
Devi Sri Prasad and Sukumar have shared a memorable musical journey for nearly two decades, from Arya to Pushpa 2. Their combination became a huge strength of Sukumar’s films, with songs and background scores often adding to the impact of his storytelling. But after the reported differences during Pushpa 2, questions have emerged about whether the duo will continue working together.
Now, fresh industry buzz suggests that Anirudh Ravichander has come on board to compose the music for Sukumar’s upcoming film RC17 with Ram Charan. There is no official confirmation yet, but if the news is true, it would mark a massive change for Sukumar.
Anirudh brings tremendous brand value. His songs and background scores have a massive following, and his involvement alone can boost a film’s pre-release buzz. However, his work in Telugu cinema has not always matched the impact of his Tamil projects. Sukumar’s film will require music that fits his storytelling, emotional moments and character elevations.
There is also a practical concern. Anirudh is already handling several high-profile projects, while Sukumar is known for taking his time with shoots, edits and reshoots. Bringing two demanding working styles together could create scheduling challenges if the music work does not progress as planned.
At the same time, a fresh combination could bring a new sound to Sukumar’s filmmaking. The real question is whether Anirudh can understand Sukumar’s vision and storytelling as well as DSP did, rather than simply adding hype to the project.
Replacing Devi Sri Prasad would be one of the biggest changes for Sukumar. If Anirudh comes on board, the combination could be exciting, but it will also face huge expectations. The music, the working equation and the production schedule will all be worth witnessing.
