Reason for making ‘Anamika’ -Sekhar Kammula

This Telugu remake of the film was supposed to be directed by Sekhar Kammula which was a surprising fact at the time considering he hadn’t directed such a movie ever. Although, now that the film has finally started coming up, we can say that it was a reasonable decision. In a media talk with the director, he disclosed that his remake will be an adaptation of the movie and have some minute changes to suit Telugu nativity.

The lead role will be portrayed by actress Nayanthara who according to rumors irritates the director for not turning up to shoot on time. She left to Chennai for Arrambam promotions and makes Kammula wait, except few days schedule shooting has been wrapped up. But sources close to Nayan denied as it’s just a rumor according to a tabloid.

He also stated that he had a good reason of being the one to direct the remake. Sekhar has been closely associated with ‘women support movements like ‘I Care, I React’ campaign. In his own words, “Anamika” has a strong message.” Let’s hope that Sekhar will come back to his winning ways with this movie.
