The Rise of Shivagami Won Kalinga Intl Literary Award

‘Baahubali’ is made into two parts by Rajamouli. But, popular author Anand Neelakantan wrote a trilogy on the prequel of ‘Baahubali’ and ‘The Rose of Shivagami’ is one of them. This book has won the Kalinga International Literary Award.

Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan honoured the author with this prestigious award. The author revealed that it is Rajamouli who asked him to write the prequel for his ‘Baahubali’. That means, the story in the book happens prior to the story we have watched on the celluloid.

Though Rajamouli gave freedom to the author to pen the story, he gave the boundaries to the characters, how they behave, heir limitations and strengths etc. Only three characters from ‘Baahubali’ is taken by the author and the rest of the characters were made up by Anand Neelakantan.
