Triangular Clash For Sankranthi – Who Is The Biggest Loser?

With producer Naga Vamsi reiterating that Bheemla Nayak is arriving on January 12th, 2022, again, here is a look at the scenario for Sankranthi 2022, if there indeed is a triangular clash.

So far, only RRR has confirmed distributors and businesses closed in all areas. Be it the Telugu states and the US; everyone is ready. Radhe Shyam and Bheemla Nayak have each closed business deals for a few territories. However, among the two, Radhe Shyam has the production house that also is in distribution. They will release the movie on their own if it comes to that and would have no issues with theatres.

It is here that Bheemla Nayak faces trouble. It won’t have the problem for a few areas like East and West Godavari, where distributors are locked and can give a wide release. But, in other territories, it will lag far behind. Things can change if Suresh Movies Distributions come into the picture. A lot depends on them to get Bheemla Nayak big release and hold screens during the main festival season.

In the U.S., RRR and Radhe Shyam have huge names releasing them. Bheemla Nayak, as of now, is way behind. Also, its mid-week release means there will be a further dent in screens.

With the above scenario in mind, openings wise, Bheemla Nayak will be the biggest loser. The day one collection will be directly proportional to the theatres it gets as there is no doubt on the buzz. RRR, arriving first, will be the biggest, and Radhe Shyam coming on the festival day will be huge as well.

When we talk about the long run, the scenarios are changed. RRR would need a solid long run to recover its record price. It would require a blockbuster talk, huge screen count and hiked ticket prices to ensure returns. A mass outing like Bheemla Nayak works to its disadvantage if it (BN) gets a positive talk.

Radhe Shyam also needs solid word of mouth. It gets the opening weekend advantage and no extra pressure of competing with similar genre work, but it will be done and dusted post the weekend if the talk is not favourable. For example, if word of mouth is like Saaho, it won’t sustain like it (Saaho) owing to its genre.

So, the conclusion is this.

The biggest loser when it comes to opening is Bheemla Nayak. On the other hand, Radhe Shyam falls in the same category in the long run. RRR finds itself in the second spot in both cases.
