RRR Hindi: Easily Beating Superstar’s Film

RRR has been maintaining a good hold at the box office across the twin Telugu states. After a Rs 100+-crore nett 5-day run at the box office, the film held well on its first Wednesday, collecting an impressive Rs 13 crores.

Up until now, Sooryavanshi, featuring Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and Ajay Devgan held the record for the biggest first-week collections tally – Rs 120.66 crores post the pandemic. RRR has almost breached Sooryavanshi’s 7-day tally in its 6-day run itself – Rs 120.59 crores.

If we add the Thursday collections tally, RRR will be posting the highest first-week collections for any Indian film in the Hindi market after the pandemic. It is easily beating Bollywood star-studded film and that too by a good margin.

The coming weekend will be crucial for RRR if it is to enter the Rs 200 crores nett zone and then go on to beat the highest grossing Indian film of the year – The Kashmir Files. A strong second weekend will catapult the film to the Rs 200 crores mark. But it will be facing competition from straight Hindi film, Attack, which releases on the 1st of April. However, it is expected that Attack doesn’t pose much of a threat to RRR and the Rajamouli directorial might well crush the former.
