We know, music maestro AR Rahman’s mother is a Hindu and he got converted to Islam. Basing on this fact, a fake quote with Rehman’s photo is circulating on various social media platforms in which Rahman batted against cow-slaughter.

In the fake quote, Rahman mother’s religion and beliefs are connected to the sentiments of Hindus who worship cow as a sacred animal. As Rahman was brought up by a Hindu, he understands the sacredness of the animal and hence, welcomes the initiative on the ban of cow slaughter.

We don’t know whether Rehman considers sacred or not. We know one thing. Miscreants on the social media platforms have wings and can go anywhere and even spread personal things and vouch genuinely in the name of religion. It’s up to us, to believe or not to believe, using some presence of mind.
