Sahoo Early Dominance Over Sye Raa

We are in June, which is at the halfway mark of the year. For the rest of the year, as far as Telugu cinema is concerned, there would be only two biggies and they are a cut above what has come until now, and what is slated to begin next year.

As many can guess, the two films are Sahoo and Sye Raa. The former stars Rebel Star Prabhas, and the later stars Megastar Chiranjeevi. Sahoo is slated to release on August 15, according to the official announcement from the makers whereas Sye Raa based on unofficial sources is planned as a Dussehra release.

The business deals for these two remaining biggies are started and the initial figures quoted are mind-blowing, to say the least. Saaho especially is leading among the two. It has a clear edge as of now. The buzz is that Nizam and Uttar Andhra rights have been snapped up by Dil Raju for a whopping 45 Cr. An official confirmation is awaited. UV Creations distribution wing is said to have taken Sye Raa for an undisclosed but lesser amount.

Irrespective of who is higher, which would be Saaho, both are way above the next best and closer to the Baahubali 2 territory. For example, in Andhra regions, the quoted price is equal to or above Baahubali 2.

We need to wait and see how sensible these investments are going to be as the recovery has to be much above the usual numbers we see with our top stars hits movies. It is another matter that getting an average genuine film is also proving to be difficult.
