Sai Pallavi: Beautiful, But Madhubala? Are You Serious?

After gaining recognition in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films, actress Sai Pallavi is preparing for a bigger presence in Hindi cinema. She is set to play Sita in Namit Malhotra’s upcoming film Ramayana alongside Ranbir Kapoor. She will also appear in Ek Din with Junaid Khan.

According to a report by Filmfare, Sai Pallavi was recently considered for the role of legendary actress Madhubala in an upcoming biopic. The project has also been linked with actress Kiara Advani, which has drawn attention among Bollywood followers.

Earlier reports suggested that Saiyaara fame Aneet Padda had secured the role. However, insiders later claimed that Sai Pallavi was also one of producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s preferred choices for the character.

Sources said Sanjay Leela Bhansali was looking for a relatively fresh face who could dominate the screen as Madhubala. Sai Pallavi reportedly matched this idea because of her limited presence in Bollywood films so far.

Despite this interest, the discussions did not reportedly move forward. Industry insiders said scheduling conflicts with her previously signed projects, including Ramayana, may have prevented the casting from progressing.

The reports triggered a debate on social media about whether any current generation actress can truly portray the timeless personality of Madhubala. Many fans believe the role requires exceptional charm and screen presence.
